About Margaritas Mexican Restaurant

Our restaurant business started in a little town in the Mexican state of Jalisco, located just 70 miles southeast of Guadalajara. It is in this typical agricultural town where Margaritas' roots originate.
Two brothers grew up preparing salsas, moles (pastes of ground spices and dry chilies), and other special ingredients to make delicious mexican cuisine from recipes they had collected over the years for their small restaurant inside the town’s local market. They used to prepare meals for the the locals and tourists 365 days a year and became experts in their trade.
Additionally, as members of a very large family, we were exposed to a great variety of home made Mexican food as part of our usual daily diet and the countless family parties, holidays, and celebrations.
Phillipe Onate was the oldest borthers son and over the years worked for his father and uncle learning the family trade. After many years under their tutelage he met his wife and were soon began their family together. Wanting a better life for his children and to inffected with the american dream applied for a visa and soon there after he and his family made their way out to California, working to realize the vision that he had since his early days at small restaurat in a local market from a quaint town south of the American border. He had a vision of a place where people could get great fresh-made food, served with a notorious enthusiasm every time they come in. After working for a few short years, absorbing and adapting to ingredients readily available he and his wife had saved up enough money to start making their dreams a reality.
They found a location on the other coast of the country and made their way to Myrtle Beach South Carolina where they have since resided. Margaritas Mexican Restaurant is the realization of a hardworking dreamer's vision:
To make tasteful, home-made food from the freshest, highest-quality ingredients, and to serve it promptly in a clean and friendly atmosphere. The Onate family is proud to have brought that vision to life. We hope you'll enjoy it.
